Nancy Hubbard | Breast Cancer Survivor

“My first mammogram was October 25, 2010, and my biopsy was on November 1, 2010.

Cancer didn’t change me; it only made my faith deeper and brought me closer to my family.

I want to encourage people who think they may have a problem to seek help. When I first called UAMS to schedule an appointment I was so scared, but I was comforted by the staff. The lady who answered my call stayed on the whole time, even after I was transferred to different areas. That extra attention meant so much to me.

One of the most memorable moments of my treatment at UAMS was when I had my breast surgery. My nurse gave me the necklace she was wearing. That simple gesture and gift meant so much and has helped me get through my treatments and therapies.”
