Rose Gossett | Breast Cancer Survivor

“The word cancer filled me with anxiety. Through my treatments I tried to stay positive. There were good days and bad days, but overall I tried to hope for the best and keep a positive outlook.

One good thing about cancer is that it allows you to see the goodness in the people who are trying to help heal you. Everyone at the Cancer Institute was so nice and really had my best interest at heart.

My husband, sister-in-law and I have experienced taking care of people with cancer before. Both my mother-in-law and brother-in-law had cancer, so we were already prepared for what would happen during treatment.  Now, my husband has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer so we are going through the process all over again. We are each other’s built-in support.

Taking yoga helped me because it taught me how to relax and release the stress. I believe relaxation and stress release are key to helping your body overcome illness.”
