Frances Valibaba | Breast Cancer Survivor

“The No. 1 thing a person diagnosed with cancer should remember is to not be afraid. When you are afraid it’s easy to let bad thoughts take over. I tried to think positively and keep a good attitude, even on days that I really didn’t feel like I could get out of bed.

Other than getting over fear, cancer taught me that I can do more than I ever believed. If I can beat cancer, I can handle anything else that comes my way. I believe in myself more now than ever before.

I’m very lucky because I have a wonderful support system around me. My whole family rallied around me and were there every step of the way. It feels good to have the people that I love the most here with me.

Now that I’m done with cancer, I’m going to Disney World. You always hear football players say that, but this time a cancer survivor said it. I can’t wait.”
