Jim Sturdivant | Throat Cancer Survivor

“I was diagnosed with throat cancer in July 2010. Dr. Stack in the Head and Neck Clinic at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute removed the cancer that August and suggested I complete a 30-day radiation treatment.

Cancer is a scary word when one is told they have it. The excellent treatment at the hands of Dr. Stack and UAMS Radiation Oncology Center (formerly CARTI) was a true blessing. After my third P.E.T scan there were no signs of recurrence of disease.

I’m very grateful to all the dedicated people who turned my life around. I just turned 61 and feel like I’m doing very well.”
