Mollie Boeving | Breast Cancer Survivor

Boeving
“My mother passed away last November, and two weeks later I found a large lump in my breast. Both of my parents died of cancer, and I knew I had to jump on it quickly.

You hear about people getting second opinions, but I came to UAMS for my third opinion. When I got here I felt like I had come home. God led me here. Everyone has been so wonderful, including my oncologist Dr. Hutchins.

Today was my sixth and final chemo. I still have to complete radiation therapy, but according to my PET scan I am cancer free.

I’m a high school teacher and also teach a college algebra class. I’ve had amazing support from my students. The softball team wore pink to support me, and the students sold pink T-shirts in my honor. I’ve gotten so much more from them than I could ever give.”
