Athena Overton | Ovarian Cancer Survivor

I was diagnosed July 12, 1994 with Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer. This July will mark 20 years of survival of this silent killer. I have had several reoccurrences, radiation twice, and lots of chemo. Thanks to the wonderful doctors I have had at the ACRC/Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, I am blessed to be graduating with my BSW in May and attending Graduate School this fall. My goal is to be an Oncology Social Worker and be able to empower, inspire, and encourage those who are going through their own cancer story. Thank you to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, oncologists, surgeons, and other staff that have made this journey easier!
