Gennaya Colbert | Endometrial Cancer Survivor

“In May 2013, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 endometrial cancer. Yesterday I completed my treatment.

I’ve learned that nothing is impossible. It may feel like you can’t make it, but you can. Having other people to lean on helped me stand tall. They kept me going.

My church, Calvary Bread of Life, was there for me and helped me through it when my mother died. They are my home away from home.

This experience has taught me to value my life. I don’t see the point of arguing anymore. I will continue to treat others the way I needed to be treated at the hardest times of my illness. You don’t know what they may be going through. Treat others better, live life fuller, pray harder.

Participating in the Seed of Hope reminded me that God placed me in the best hands and, thanks to Him, it worked.”
