Become an Envoy Ambassador
The Envoys Ambassador Program is made up of 30 individuals who are hand-selected by the current Envoys Board Members and Special Events Team at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. There is no cost to become an Envoy Ambassador. However, the individual’s employer must approve of their participation, and they cannot miss more than one education session. The program begins with a Kickoff which includes a tour of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute campus and optional complimentary headshots in August (after hours). Additionally, there are four educational lunch & learn sessions scheduled for the last Thursday in October, January, February, and March. The sessions are presented by UAMS physicians, researchers, and officers and will cover a wide variety of cancer-related topics including:
- The impact of cancer on Arkansas;
- A panel update from Seeds of Science* grant recipients;
- A panel discussion/case presentation on chemotherapy, radiation and surgery;
- And an overview from the Clinical Trials Office.
Each presentation will conclude with a question and answer session where the Envoys Ambassadors can really engage with the presenters. Upon completion of the program, each Envoy Ambassador can nominate 1-2 community leaders to invite into the program.
Note: Applicants will be added to a waiting list and will be notified by email if a position becomes available. Those on the waiting list for the 2023-2024 class will be given priority when registration begins for the 2024-2025 class.
