The Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Auxiliary is proud to support programs and services that enhance patient care, provide comfort, and address unmet needs for patients and families served by the Cancer Institute.

Through fundraising efforts and community support, the Auxiliary helps fund innovative projects that improve the patient experience and bring compassion, service, and hope to those whose lives are touched by cancer.

Auxiliary Impact

To date, the Cancer Institute Auxiliary has contributed more than $3.5 million to support cancer care, patient services, and special projects.

Programs funded through Cancer Institute Auxiliary fundraising efforts in 2025 and 2026 include:

  • Patient Support Fund
  • Comfort Project – providing blankets for patients
  • Healing Pockets – jackets with built-in drain holders
  • Care Cart for Infusion Patients
  • Wigs for Cancer Patients
  • WPRCI Supplemental Pantry
  • Skin Care for Myeloma
  • Compassionate Clothing Closet
  • Recipient Care Packages for CAR-T Patients
  • Oncology Massage for WPRCI Patients and Caregivers
  • Making Magic for Radiation Oncology Pediatric Patients

Program Overview

The mission of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Auxiliary is to provide information, service, compassion, and hope to those whose lives are touched by cancer.

The Cancer Institute Auxiliary is currently offering grants for innovative projects that are consistent with its mission and for which funding is not otherwise available.

Through this grant program, the Auxiliary supports projects that improve the patient experience and address unmet needs.

Who Should Apply

All UAMS employees, faculty, and staff are invited to submit applications for innovative projects that support cancer patients through:

– Improve access to care

– Support coping with illness and the side effects of treatment

– Provide patient/family education

Projects must align with the Auxiliary’s mission and should not have other available funding sources.

Our Next Grant Funding Period

July 2027 – June 2028

Important Dates

  • Next Application Open: Thursday April 1, 2027
  • Next Application Deadline: Friday, April 30, 2027, by 4:00 p.m.
  • Award Announcements: June 2027
  • Final Reports Due: June 30, 2028

Non-Allowable Expenses

Grant funds may not be used for:

  • Research
  • Salaries or training compensation
  • Travel
  • Routine clinical care items
  • Software or apps

Renewal Applications

Projects funded in the previous year may apply for renewal. Renewal requests are reviewed competitively and do not receive priority.

Renewal applicants must:

  • Demonstrate progress toward original goals
  • Submit financial documentation
