The Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Auxiliary is proud to support programs and services that enhance patient care, provide comfort, and address unmet needs for patients and families served by the Cancer Institute.
Through fundraising efforts and community support, the Auxiliary helps fund innovative projects that improve the patient experience and bring compassion, service, and hope to those whose lives are touched by cancer.
Auxiliary Impact
To date, the Cancer Institute Auxiliary has contributed more than $3.5 million to support cancer care, patient services, and special projects.

Program Overview
The mission of the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Auxiliary is to provide information, service, compassion, and hope to those whose lives are touched by cancer.
The Cancer Institute Auxiliary is currently offering grants for innovative projects that are consistent with its mission and for which funding is not otherwise available.
Through this grant program, the Auxiliary supports projects that improve the patient experience and address unmet needs.
Who Should Apply
All UAMS employees, faculty, and staff are invited to submit applications for innovative projects that support cancer patients through:
– Improve access to care
– Support coping with illness and the side effects of treatment
– Provide patient/family education
Projects must align with the Auxiliary’s mission and should not have other available funding sources.

Grant Period
July 2026 – June 2027
Funding Available
Up to $200,000 is available to fund multiple projects during this funding cycle.
Funds are provided through the Cancer Institute Auxiliary Partners Card Project and are dedicated to improving patient care and support.
Important Dates
- Application Deadline: Friday, April 29, 2026, by 4:00 p.m.
- Award Announcements: June 2026
- Final Reports Due: June 30, 2027
Non-Allowable Expenses
Grant funds may not be used for:
- Research
- Salaries or training compensation
- Travel
- Routine clinical care items
- Software or apps
Renewal Applications
Projects funded in the previous year may apply for renewal. Renewal requests are reviewed competitively and do not receive priority.
Renewal applicants must:
- Demonstrate progress toward original goals
- Submit financial documentation
