Dear Committee Members,

Welcome to the first quarterly newsletter from the Cancer Research Training and Education Core. We have a new name, new committee to guide us, and a fantastic core featuring Mrs. Brandi Dawson who executes most functions and Sandy Moore who organizes the Cancer Institute Forum seminar series.  We are off to a great start!  Recent accomplishments include: awarding the inaugural Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute awards for best cancer research projects by high school students at the Arkansas Science and Engineering Fair; funding a junior faculty in cancer research by partnering with the KL2 scholar program; getting a cancer research component into Dr. Kevin Phelan’s NIH funded health education program for high school students.  Much more is in the works!

Regards, Dr. Thomas J. Kelly Jr., PhD.
