The mission of the UAMS Genomics Shared Resource is to provide UAMS investigators with convenient access to the latest technologies for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and microarray analysis. Donald Johann Jr., M.D. serves as scientific director.

The Genomics Shared Resource uses state-of-the-art instrumentation to generate top-quality data with an efficient turn-around time and an affordable cost. A wide range of services are offered, for instance: DNA NGS approaches utilizing Whole Exome Sequencing, Whole Genome Sequencing, and targeted cancer panel approaches. RNA NGS approaches for mRNA and total RNA are also offered. All NGS approaches utilize the latest Illumina technology platforms.

We strive to provide the best service possible to our research community and encourage all investigators interested in incorporating sequencing and molecular profiling analysis into their projects to contact us. Consultation on sample preparation and procedures is also provided and highly recommended before starting your projects. Research can also be performed on a collaborative basis with the Genomics Shared Resource staff to meet certain investigator needs.
