I am delighted to be back to host the 2024 Be A Part Of The Cure Walk. Last year’s event was phenomenal. The festival-like atmosphere brought together cancer survivors, supporters, families and friends who are all invested in making a difference in the lives of people battling cancer.
Be A Part of The Cure Walk has a special meaning for me because in 2011 my daughter died from colon cancer. As her caregiver I discovered very quickly that a strong community and support system are paramount to the health and healing of both the patient and the caregiver. Be A Part Of The Cure Walk brings the community together creating one of the largest support groups I have ever seen in any one place. The event is filled with walkers and other participants who are there to show cancer survivors and caregivers that they are not alone in this journey.
I commend the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and the organizers for creating an event where we can honor those who have fought and are still fighting cancer. I can hardly wait until Saturday, May 4th and hope to see you there!
