Teen Volunteers
Teen Volunteers at the  Home for Healing

Each summer, the Cancer Institute Volunteer Services Office hosts the Summer Teen Volunteer Program. If you are between 16-18 years of age, you are welcome to apply for this annual program where you will get firsthand experience volunteering in a health care setting.

This is a great experience whether you are interested in a health care career or just want to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Activities may include such things as shadowing nurses, pharmacists and physicians; touring pharmacy and research labs; and hands-on learning at the Simulation Center. Teen volunteers also bake cookies for patients and their families; distribute candy and snacks in the waiting rooms; and assist staff in the gift shop.
