By speaking to a pharmacist, patients and their families can gain a better understanding of the medications they have been prescribed and the possible side effects and interactions they could experience.

A licensed pharmacist is available for consultations at the Cancer Institute by request through your nurse. Consultations may be scheduled at the beginning or anytime during your treatment.

The pharmacist can provide education about possible effects of chemotherapy and supportive care medicines; assist with palliative care and pain management; and monitor other medications you may take regularly.
