CLIMB: Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery
Imagine being a child and finding out your mom or dad has cancer. You might be scared, confused, angry or any emotion in between. That’s why we offer a group to help children cope with their parent’s cancer diagnosis and to help their parents see them through it.
CLIMB is a six week program offered in the evenings. The program is free, and pre-registration is required. To find out when the next session is starting, call Carrie Calhoon, LCSW, at 501-603-1612.
Separate groups for children ages 6-12 and their parents meet simultaneously and are led by oncology social workers. While the children’s group includes art projects and sharing, the adult group focuses on ways parents can support their children.
CLIMB is a national program sponsored by The Children’s Treehouse Foundation.
